WPLMS is an advanced learning management system built for WordPress users. With the built-in support for bbPress and BuddyPress you can easily build a community and make sure teachers and students would stay in touch all the time. This isn’t just a learning management system in its name. Many WordPress education themes only look like they were built for such purposes.

WPLMS on the other hand comes with exclusive features built to help and engage students and teachers. Basically there are two main user roles that this theme uses: teacher/instructor and student. Teachers are able to create courses from the front-end. There is no need to go into the WordPress administration which could be a bit frightening for those not familiar with WordPress. WPLMS is fully compatible with the WooCommerce plugin that makes it possible for teachers and instructors to sell their courses to students for either a fix price or subscription based.

An instructor is able to set up curriculum for his course, add events, create groups and forum topics where he can interact with the students. If you want to check the progress of the students you can set up quizzes to test their knowledge. Quizzes and questions are handled via a custom designed quiz module that comes with the theme. The module supports the following quiz types: Single answer, Multiple answer, Small text & Essay Type.

Main features of WPLMS

Built on Bootstrap framework, CSS3 Animations, responsive & retina-ready, custom widgets, Template Layouts, premium sliders, ShortCode Generator with Live Preview, Drag Drop Page Builder, Widgetized Mega Menu, Private Course Groups, Private Course Forums, advanced course statistics, and much more ….

The installation of the theme is very simple and no different than installing any other WordPress theme. The theme comes with detailed documentation so if you are stuck, it”s worth checking out.

One important thing to point out is that installing the theme via FTP may be a better choice. WPLMS comes packed with lots of modules and plugins so uploading the theme package via the WordPress administration may fail if your webhost defined low memory limit in their php.ini file.

Here is the install process you should follow:

  1. Extract the theme package onto your hard drive.
  2. Upload the theme package into the following folder: wp-content/themes
  3. Log in to you WordPress administration
  4. Go to the “Appearance” => “Themes” section
  5. If you uploaded the theme via FTP, you should see the theme’s thumbnail
  6. Activate the theme

After activating the theme, it is a good idea to go through all of its settings and study the documentations, because the vast amount of features and settings may be overwhelming at first.
